Are you a passionate parent who loves sports? Do you care deeply about your child & want to see their athletic dreams realized? …Might you sometimes have difficulty controlling your emotions at sports games? Is your child possibly experiencing burnout? Great news: You’re not alone & I’m here to help!
Being a sports parent can be tough. One weekend you’re celebrating your child’s win, while the next you might be getting thrown out of the gym. So why can managing our own emotions at our children’s sports games be so hard? Well, there’s lot of reasons why.  For starters, you care deeply for your child. You’re passionate. You see their potential and want to see their dreams realized. Why wouldn’t you want the ref to make fair calls and for your child to get equal playing time? Managing your emotions during your child’s game can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be!
With spring sports just around the corner, Margaret is offering a one hour, virtual parent support session where she will offer practical ways for parents to continue leaning into their competitive spirits, while being equipped with practical strategies that will help them manage their emotions during their kiddo’s games.
Prior to the session parents can anonymously submit questions or ethical dilemmas beforehand, that Margaret will give advice around during the session. Here’s a quick snapshot of questions that will be covered:
What are the signs of child athlete burnout, and how can I prevent this?
How can I tell if my intensity over sports is hurting my child’s performance?
I think my partner is pushing our child too hard, how can I tell if they are?
My son refuses to talk with us after he loses a game…is that ok?
Join this educational, single session parent workshop & come away with:
- Signs of child athlete burnout & strategies to prevent it
- Practical ways to manage emotions during sports games
- Helpful phrases to share with children after losses
- Helpful resources for emotional regulation that can be used anytime!
